Loss of power and whistling from a split boost hose
Will get worse if left.
Symptoms
Sudden loss of pulling power, a whistle or hiss under load, and oil around the intercooler hoses.
Likely cause
The rubber boost hoses between turbo, intercooler and manifold soften with oil and age, then split or blow off.
Suggested fixes
Listed roughly in the order most owners try them.
- 1
Replace the boost hoses
Fit new hoses and good quality clamps. Silicone hoses last much longer than rubber.
